Kishimoto and Mitani, obviously enough. There is nothing suggestive
about this picture at all. Obviously you're
seeing things.
Okay, so I'm lying. Uh. Anyway.
I kind of like this pairing, although it makes about zero sense. I mean,
they met once, during Hikaru's school days, and
Kishimoto whomped Mitani's ass in go. They met once. That's
it. But, you know, what the hell. Even if you accept
the pairing, the picture itself doesn't make so much sense. Once again
I fall afoul of 'it's hot!!'.
Besides, I've seen Kaga/Waya doujinshi for sale, so I defend myself
by saying that it's not the most unrealistic pairing
there is.
Done entirely in Painter, from start to finish. I particularly like
their faces--I went for a slightly more stylistic and anime
feel than usual--and their hair came out well too. I like how
Mitani's hips have that half-twist going so that he can have
that one leg raised. ...and gosh, isn't his crotch shiny.
Once again drapery becomes my nemesis. Clothing folds. Bah. And more
to the point, I found
myself having to try and shade both flat black and flat white (because
the colors are ever so symbolic, dontcha know) and I can't
really do either. I ended up wimping out on Kishimoto's outfit, but
I couldn't do so on Mitani's, so I gritted my teeth and
threw light blue and light gray at everything. It's kind of interesting
that I actually reversed their colors. I mean, Mitani
usually wears the black uniform and Kishimoto has that white Kaio one...
but we all know who's playing black in this pairing,
right? Ahahaha. Fun with euphemisms.
You can see this
picture flipped 180 degrees here, in case you want to see Mitani right-side-up.
Unsurprisingly, that's how I actually
drew him. Kept rotating the picture around and around and around.
