Stupid me and my stupid needing to draw lots of little tiny details. Stupid me and my hand-lettering that requires a huge resolution to read. Bah! Anyway, a few days after the success of the Tomatogunner I was mucking around in Painter with no real goals other than to practice drawing motion, so I drew a guy vaulting over something. Said guy came out kind of chubby. I'd just read all the Ninja and Roommate stories a few days before and so I thought, "Hey! It could be Ray! ... now it is Ray! This I decree!"

And then while I was roughing in Ray's details I thought of Erik and Ash doing their thing, so I went over and drew them in, too, and made them both be moving too for extra practice. I would have put Dustin in, only there wasn't much in the way of reference art for Dustin at that point, so I left him out.

Ash is really the best thing about this drawing. Oh, Ray came out just great--I'm very pleased with his crazy-ass pose--and Erik's not bad at all, but Ash? Ash is the best. He was really easy to draw, too. I barely had to redraw any of his bits. However, Erik's legs gave me fits. And once again, witness my amazing lack-of-background skills OMG!

Ash talks in caps-and-smalls as opposed to normal comics caps because he's so cute and little and delicate and girly. I'm just sayin'. Also, some day I hope to own a bar called 'St. Jude's Last Chance Saloon'. Best thing evar.
