Light And Shadow - Steven Brust's 'Dragaera' Series

Morrolan e'Drien and Kragar, lookin' mighty pretty. Eeeeyup.

Those of you who have actually read this series of books are now staring at me cockeyed, I'm certain. Yes, there's absolutely
no reason for these two characters to appear in the same picture. Yes, out of some ten or so books in the series, they've been in
the same room exactly once and had a rather frosty little interchange that lasted for all of about three sentences. Yes.

So why did I do it?

Because these are my favorite characters in the whole series, and these are also the favorite characters of my buddy Suze, and
this picture was a somewhat belated holiday present for her. So yes, it makes absolutely no sense, and exists solely to be
pretty. Mmm, pretty.

Good gracious, I finally did a fanwork that isn't related to anything Japanese. I'm slipping in my old age, I suppose.

Quick notes: that's Morrolan's shoulder, not a gigantic breast, and those things Kragar is holding are three leaf-bladed throwing
daggers and a shuriken. ... what? Shut up. I can pretend he's a badass if I want to.

And a dragon head in the corner, complete with neck-tentacles! Oooh, color me canon.

The funky sparkly grays are actually done with a silver gel pen. I love gel pens. They own me. Much of the inkwork was done with
a gigantic black Sharpie marker, the fumes of which rendered me alternately high and headachy. Fortunately, the inkwork was
also quick to complete. And man, did that silver lace cuff come out purty. Eeeee.

Insert requisite grumbling about scanning natural media here, and we're all good to go.

The Dragaera books, Morrolan e'Drien, Kragar, and all related material are all copyright Steven Brust and do not belong in any way, shape,
or form to me.
