Five - Star Ocean: The Second Story, Dias and Ashton

=====

The first time that Ashton had tried to do it, Dias had tried to kill him, just out of reflex. Ashton hadn't really minded. In that state it was all the same to him.

The second time Dias had seen it coming and had let it happen, and they'd both been bleeding and bruised and gasping by the end and Dias was convinced he'd never come so hard. It was so different. It was Ashton but it wasn't everyday Ashton, it was that other Ashton, and looking into that familiar face and seeing those unfamiliar remote eyes...

The third time, Dias was ready. No sooner had Ashton's Crests faded into existence and Ashton's personality faded out of his eyes than Dias hit him in the small of the back with everything he had, his shoulder driving Ashton forward onto the bed. Ashton had screamed, just once, an unfamiliar sound full of fury, but Dias was already straddling his waist, pinning him there through his weight alone. One hand clamped around the back of Ashton's neck to help keep him pinned and Dias could feel the massive spiral of Ashton's Crests pulsing hot under his palm.

Both dragons went for him at once, Gyoro's teeth closing hard on his gauntleted wrist, Ururun's vicious beak hurtling an inch past Dias' cheek as Dias jerked aside. With a twist and a yank Dias grabbed Gyoro's lower jaw in his hand, metal-shod fingers digging into the meat of the dragon's tongue, and shaking Gyoro Dias growled "Stop. Both of you. All of you," having to raise his voice to be heard over Ashton's own furious raspy breathing.

Ururun stopped, staring at his captured brother/other, little icicles growing from his gaping beak as he considered his options. Gyoro snorted frantically and tossed his head, trying to free himself from Dias' grip, his neck twisting and squirming. Ashton, on the other hand, had fallen still and quiet, every muscle in his body taut.

Dias squeezed the back of Ashton's neck, hard. "Don't even think about it."

"I won't," Ashton said, his voice very remote, almost amused. "But you'll have to let go at some point."

Dias snorted out something that might have been a laugh. "Tell them to back off, and I'll let Gyoro go."

Ashton said nothing, but he closed his eyes, and a second later Ururun closed his mouth and Gyoro stopped fighting against Dias' grip. When Dias let him go they both reared up and out of the way, glaring at him balefully. Gyoro's mouth kept working, his tongue flicking in and out and his lower jaw flexing, and Dias almost laughed at him. Almost. Instead he grabbed for his own belt, yanking it free of his pants with his free hand.

Ashton jerked slightly when the loop of Dias' belt dropped down in front of him, on the wrong side of the headboard. "Hands on either side of the bar," Dias growled, squeezing the back of Ashton's neck again for emphasis, "and into the loop."

Ashton was absolutely still for a moment, his sides heaving against Dias' thighs as he contemplated fighting for it, but in the end he laughed a quiet little laugh and thrust both hands into Dias' belt.
