| "Percival, either you get off me right this second or I shall ensure
that you sing soprano for the rest of your natural life!" Borus' gauntlets
slammed against Percival's breastplate and he heaved. There was a sound
like a bag full of pots falling downstairs as Percival went rolling off.
"Touchy," Percival sniffed, clambering ponderously to his feet and holding out one hand to Borus, who ignored it and stood up without its help. "Again?" "Again," Borus growled, rolling one shoulder to resettle his armor and bringing his practice sword back into line. "En garde, Swordsman of Rage!" Percival caroled, and his own wooden blade lanced out towards Borus' unarmored head. "Don't call me that!" Borus bellowed. Percival's blade cracked against his as he whipped it up. Forcing Percival's sword aside with a grunt Borus reversed his blade and slashed downwards, his own blade smashing against Percival's armored side and sending Percival staggering. Percival caught himself neatly on one foot and shoved himself forward again before Borus could regain his balance, and once again even though Borus' blade crossed his in time Percival's weight (considerable inside the plate armor) overbalanced them both and they went crashing onto the ground of the practice yard again, with a noise that could surely be heard all the way to Toran. "Still not getting your left foot behind you fast enough!" Percival tsked, then leaned forward and cheerfully kissed Borus on the nose. Borus' eyes because two huge and perfect circles of white and gold in his face, which went red. Furious to the point of incoherency he bellowed and beat at Percival's back with his wooden sword, with a sound like cowbells. "Hm," Percival said, nearly having to shout to be heard over the ruckus but still managing to convey an attitude of 'musing'. "There's a thought." "Enh?" Borus said, still wild-eyed with anger but too exhausted to keep beating at Percival's armor. "Every time you mess up and I get you pinned to the ground--" Percival stopped there and kissed Borus on the nose again. Borus's face because incandescent with fury. Shoving Percival off he scrambled to his feet and whipped his sword into line again, and this time Percival couldn't knock him over, no matter how hard he tried. |
