Originally this (and the fragment that follows) were going to be part of a much longer, more internally coherent fic. But I haven't touched the fic in close to a year, and I've moved away from this fandom, so it doesn't seem likely that I'll ever write the fic in question. Therefore, I'm preserving what I have for posterity.
Takes place close to the beginning of the new run of Teen Titans, right before I got so irritated with the series that I stopped reading it.
