Young Justice/Teen Titans - Conversation Fragment #2: In Person

Originally this (and the preceding fragment) were going to be part of a much longer, more internally coherent fic. But I haven't touched the fic in close to a year, and I've moved away from this fandom, so it doesn't seem likely that I'll ever write the fic in question. Therefore, I'm preserving what I have for posterity.
Takes place close to the beginning of the new run of Teen Titans, right before I got so irritated with the series that I stopped reading it.

Warnings:
Minor spoilers for Bart and Kon's backstories.
Also, be very wary if you still believe in Santa Claus.

"... hey, Tim."

"Mm?"

"How old were you when you stopped believing in Santa Claus?"

"I can't remember ever believing, actually. I'm pretty sure I always knew he was just made up."

"Oh. Huh."

"Why?"

"No real reason. Just wonderin'. Hey, Bart, how about you, when'd you figure out there wasn't a Santa Claus?"

"... what do you mean?"

"I mean, how old were you when you found out Santa Claus wasn't real?"

"..."

"..."

"... oh. Good one, Kon."

"What? What do you mean, 'good o--'"

"Santa Claus isn't real?! But-- but-- but presents! Stockings! But--"

"Oh, crap."

"Yeah. Like I said. Good one. Go ahead and tell him about the Easter Bunny while you're at it. Maybe you can destroy the rest of his cherished childhood illusions."

"What about the Easter Bunny?"

"He's--you're sixteen!"

"Technically, he's three and a half, Kon."

"Technically I'm three and a half! And I knew!"

"Yes, but he's also Bart."

"... oh. Right. Crap."

"No, really! What about the Easter Bunny?!"

COMMENTS:
This one has less of a point than the first one, but I still like it.
