David 'Dave' Brassoff (Stonewall)

Full name: David Edgar Brassoff
Height: 6'0
Weight: light
Age: 28
Job: tech (software), replacement part, punching bag

Biography: A quiet, self-sufficient, and above all average child, Dave spent most of his early years living in the shadow of his much more extroverted and attractive younger sister. It wasn't really fair, but Dave didn't mind.
Everything changed when Dave was fourteen. His sister vanished while walking home from school one afternoon; three months later her body was found. The tragedy essentially destroyed Dave's family. Dave spent the last four years of his childhood living in a home full of ghosts, trying very hard to be unobtrusive and well-behaved, barely noticed by his shattered parents at all.
Dave's ambitions stem directly from that incident. At first just a nebulous desire to keep other people from having to go through the same thing--or to help them when they did--he soon decided that he could actually do so by going into law enforcement. He joined the FBI right out of college and spent the next few years angling for a transfer into one of the more active branches of the FBI, where he could count on being able to deal with criminals more directly.

Trivia: Dave is still a very quiet and self-sufficient guy, seemingly very average (although his technical skills are, in fact, excellent). In fact, he seems pretty damned boring, and thus, his one non-computer-related hobby always startles people: Dave collects vintage Hawaiian shirts. He bought the first one off eBay on a whim late one night, and liked it so much that he started buying others. Currently he has nine, each one louder than the last; he doesn't actually wear them very often, but he likes having them, and has vowed to wear them all on his next vacation, no matter where he ends up going.

Author's Note: I was worried that Dave wouldn't go over very well with the readers, since he was coming into the series late and replacing Rich. Judging by the reaction of early readers, I needn't have worried.
