Biography: Mike is the Brooklyn-born son of a first-generation Japanese-American father and a mother of Hispanic descent, the fourth child of six and the oldest son. His mixed heritage provided him with a generically 'ethnic' look that's since proved invaluable in any number of undercover operations; unfortunately, it was something of a liability while he was growing up, and only his father's insistance that he have a decent education saved Mike from coming to a bad end.
Mike is, generally, trouble. With a capital 'T'. His rowdy nature, cheerfully violent temper, tendency to make jokes that come a little too close to 'sexual harassment', and general crazy came close to getting him kicked out of the FBI on several occasions before Simon absorbed him into Team Templar, where, oddly enough, he fits in perfectly.

Trivia: Despite his heritage, Mike speaks only enough Spanish and Japanese to get himself into a lot of trouble. However, he has a natural gift for accents and dialects and can mimic almost any speech pattern with eerie accuracy, including that of a native Spanish speaker.
