Nathan 'Nate' Waxman (Specs)
Full name: Nathan Daniel Waxman
Biography: A nice Jewish boy from New Jersey, Nate was originally a member of the private sector, designing computer hardware for a small startup security company that was, unfortunately, not terribly honest. Things went sour. The company made a fortune from Nate's work without actually honoring his contract, remembering to let him share in the profits or putting his name on the patents; finally, having no other recourse, Nate sued. He won, but it was a Pyrrhic victory at best. The settlement he received was fair-sized but not really an indication of how much the company owed him, and the lawsuit made things far too uncomfortable for him to stay. Nate left the company. Simon, who had been following the case with some interest, immediately got in contact, eventually recruiting Nate outright. Trivia: That crowbar is Nate's most-used tool, preferred weapon, signature accessory, best friend, and all-around boon companion. He's rarely without it. Two years ago, during day seventeen of a nineteen-day-long stakeout that threatened to drive them all insane, Nate took an engraving tool and etched Speak Friend And Enter down the length of the crowbar's grip. He's been known to mutter 'Mellon' under his breath while using the crowbar, ever since. Author's Note: While Nate and Rich are both nerds, Nate is one of the newer more user-friendly kind. To illustrate the difference: Rich believes that the Lord of the Rings movies are a travesty and an affront to the legacy of the books. Nate owns the extended versions of all three movies on DVD. |
